what to pack?

TranSierra Norte is a true backcountry experience, although there is some support, Racers must be self-sufficient during the duration of the event and keep their bikes in working order. To make packing up for the race easier, we have created a comprehensive guide.

Bags

For lightweight, efficient traveling, we recommend the following luggage setup:

  • 1 X Bike Bag with your bike and equipment.

  • 1 X Medium-sized suitcase with your clothes & toiletries.

  • 1 X Riding backpack (Can be used as a carry-on when traveling).

We suggest checking out the luggage offerings from Evoc Sports, their bags and riding backpacks have amazing quality and well-thought-out designs.

During the race, we will store your luggage and bike bags in a safe place, however, you need to divide what you will need stored and what you will need during the 4 days of racing.

We ask racers to be self-sufficient and prioritize their safety when racing.

  • Riding backpack or hip pack with hydration bladder

  • Lightweight Back protector (recommended)

  • Googles or glasses

  • Gloves

  • Riding shoes

  • Water bottle & cage

  • Knee pads

When pushing the limits on the bike, it is important to be hydrated and fueled up properly, even though we will have some hydration stops, we ask racers to carry some food and water to get through each day.

  • Hydration tablets

  • Prefered gels or fuel bars

tools & parts

In case of a mechanical failure during the race, riders should be able to perform minor repairs and adjustments to get through the day. Mechanical support will be provided throughout the race, however, we ask riders to come prepared to work on their bikes in case of any mishaps.

  • 1 x quality air pump & co2 inflator

  • 1 x multi-tool & chain breaker

  • 1 x tire plugs

  • 1 x bleed kit (not to carry when racing, just in case)

  • 2 x sets of brake pads
